Lord High Priest Bob of the Faceless Eater
Ave Bossa Nova, Similis Bossa Seneca
Apparently one of the benefits of working for an immortal god who destroys all before it but leaves buildings standing is the salvage. While the first few months were apparently lean for the growing cult, the decimated haunts of eaten villains give ample opportunity for profit, and recently the cult of the Celestapod was taken over, which had a large enough base for the growing Cult of the Faceless Eater to move in wholesale.
Underlings' Union's Attack God
A common factor has emerged recently in the string of villain deaths in Abizyl. Victims are united in having no workers that are members of the Underlings' Union. While no-one is sure of the reason why the Faceless Eater seems to be working for underlings, this fact has lead to a split of attitudes towards the union. Some are rushing to support it, forcing their underlings to become members to ensure their own safety, whilst others have deemed the union to be challenging villains and thus have set their sights on its destruction. |
Last week an anonymous spokesman from the Underlings' Union approached the Abizyl Advertiser to clarify the reason a link was spotted between the Faceless Eater and the union. It was explained that the union, in coalition with the Owner, agreed on a one hundred year amnesty where the Faceless Eater would refrain from ending the world. Thus, the lord high priest of the Faceless Eater has been choosing targets for their insatiable god to tide them over, basing this on who is most likely to cause problems for the cult whilst avoiding those whom their union allies work for. After this information was released, most challengers who had started trying to bring about the destruction of the union turned their barbs of challenge instead towards the cult. This resulted in the immediate death and consumption of four villains and seventy eight underlings. |
Scandal today as the president of the Underlings' Union has been found using the pact between the union and the Faceless Eater for personal gain. It was revealed that, though the Faceless Eater and Underlings' Union have both continued to stick to the pact, President Amheus Celwyddog has been providing the Faceless Eater with names of people they have a personal vendetta with, outside of the agreed upon limits. The Underlings' Union called for an immediate vote of no confidence against Amheus, who was then expelled from the union for behaviour likely to sabotage its efforts. |
Faithful Worm
My most faithful Worm.
As these 50 years have progressed, your union has become larger and larger. As more of your union joins our path, and as more of Abizyl comes under My power, there will soon be insufficient villains left on the list to fill My most divine hunger. Even those who seek to challenge Me do not make a sufficient meal. Find Me a way out of this contract, else scour the depth of the seas, and dark of space for beasts that may be found to hold my hunger. Find Me a behemoth of each and bring them to Me. I will take them as vessels for My bidding - suitable forms fit to seek out others of the gargantuan beasts and deliver My hunger.
Most Glorious Lord of Worms, It Whom Delves Beneath the Earth, Nidorus Overgod of Putrescence, the All-Consuming Faceless Eater
The End of an Era
It is 99 years since the 100 years' amnesty between the Underlings' Union and the All-Consuming One. As the end of this century draws closer, it appears that the Cult of the Faceless Eater has been preparing. Lairs left barren for decades now appear to be a hive of cult activity. The Sword of Sacrilegious Slaughter - an item of legend said to be able to kill a god - has reappeared from its century of hiding, into the hands of the high priest.
