Diana

Innocence

“Look don't get me wrong, I'm all for grabbing pitchforks and having a good shaking down of people, but when you look at the evidence, it's not like anyone can actually prove that she lead Estella to the safehouse. I mean why would she bother sending Celeste there at all if she wasn't trying to hide her from Estella”

“Hmmm, true. Plus even if she did, it's not like Celeste was a Union Member. I mean since when has it been against Union policy to help your villain enact a plan against some random non-union patsy, eh?”

- Heard in the kitchnette after an Underlings Union meeting

The Confrontation

The storm surrounding Castel dell'Æmoglobina is particularly ferocious, the flashes of lightening serving to only highlight how dark the night sky is. The lashes of rain makes the roof tiles more treacherous than they are already. Matthew steps out from the shelter of a buttress.

“I knew I'd find you up here. This madness has gone on long enough. We end this. Tonight.”

“Brother, please, you don't understand. You are making a mistake - we can keep our village safe. Trust me.”

The flash of lightening illuminates the two of them, face to face. The precipice of the edge of the building looms next to them.

“You have fooled me for far too long. This was never about protecting them. This was just about what you want.”

“Come inside, I can show you how to…”

“NO. The last time I listened to you you turned me into this monstrouscity. You promised we'd solve this together.”

“We can solve it together” she pleads

Matthew wipes the mix of tears and rain from his face.

“That's what you just don't seem to get. It's you. The problem is you. This ends TONIGHT”

Matthew draws the stake concealed in his cloak and lunges forwards, but she's too quick, grabbing his hand before the wooden point gets anywhere near her. The stake clatters to the floor, as the two of them grapple on the slick tiling. Another flash hits the roof and they tumble over, sliding towards the endless drop below.

One reaches for the guttering to slow their fall, while the other lunges for the stake.

The storm surrounding Castel dell'Æmoglobina rages on.

Quivercast Season 6: Lovers at the Bloody Castle

“Welcome to episode 3 of this Season of the Quivercast, the number one Podcast exploring the weird history of the Quiverwoods, brought to you by Central Catering: 'Home cooking made easy'

“Last we we took you inside that mysterious room at Castel dell'Æmoglobina, where the gruesome display of bodies was found. What we didn't mention was the book found inside that room. The book, a plain journal of sorts, elegantly bound, bares no title on the front. However carefully turn the first page, and the true horror of this tome reveals itself.

”'For My Love' reads the opening inscription, followed by a list, spannning several pages, and each name carefully struck out. Some of these names, dear listener, you will recognised. Felicity Wildflower, Celeste, the stars of episodes 1 and 2. And there are others; Anthony Palethorn, Tiffany Lux, Julia Herald, Maxine Dove. All names you shall become all too familiar with over the rest of our season.

“But in the middle, is the focus of our Episode this week: Diana. You'll soon learn of the hidden locket, a curious carriage journey, and the secrets of a hidden pannel in this very room. Learn why this hidden panel contained boxes of golden plaques, with these very names engraved, one box per name. All shall be revealed after a quick word from our sponsor.

“We know cooking can be dull; all that foraging for ingredients, but it's worth it for a home cooked meal. With Central Catering Meal Boxes, you can save prep time, which gives you more time for Podacasts…”
